Operation and performance of the CBM Silicon Tracking reference telescope∗

چکیده
A reference tracking telescope consisting of three stations based on double-sided silicon microstrip detectors has been constructed and tested in a 2 GeV proton beam experiment at GSI. This proof-of-principle device designed for charged particle track measurement with high spatial resolution closely integrates silicon sensors with self-triggering front-end electronics. Each station features the full readout of a CBM02B2 prototype detector with 2×256 strips of orthogonal orientation and 50 μm strip pitch. Four selftriggering n-XYTER readout chips have been directly wirebonded to the detector.

First test of a prototype CBM silicon detector system in a proton beam at GSI
In September 2008, the CBM collaboration performed the first essential test of two prototype detector systems in a 2.5 GeV proton beam at GSI. The experiment at the HTD beam line in Cave C comprised prototype micro-strip detectors of the Silicon Tracking System, and gas-electronmultiplier (GEM) detectors. The detectors were coupled to a self-triggering front-end electronics and data acquisition...
متن کاملDevelopment of radiation hard silicon detectors for the CBM Silicon Tracking System using Simulation Approach
The very intense radiation environment of the planned Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment at the international research center FAIR makes radiation hardness a very important issue for the Silicon Tracking System (STS). The STS will consist of eight stations of double sided strip detectors at a distance between 25 cm to 100 cm downstream of the target. It is expected that the total integ...
متن کاملRadiation hardness of low-mass readout cables for the CBM experiment
For the fixed-target heavy-ion experiment CBM at FAIR, a low-mass silicon tracking detector system is being developed that can track at high rates the hundreds of charged particles that will be created when an intense beam of heavy nuclei interacts with the target [1]. The detector is based on silicon microstrip detector technology. Fast self-triggering front-end electronics will be located at ...
متن کاملProgress with performance simulations of the CBM Silicon Tracking System
Efficient charged particle tracking and high momentum resolution are central performance requirements of the CBM Silicon Tracking System (STS). The aim of the ongoing layout studies is to design a highly granular and lowmass detector system which can track up to 1000 charged particles that are typically generated in one central Au+Au collision at 25 GeV/u projectile energy. A low-mass detector ...
متن کاملHybrid Fuzzy Reference Signal Tracking Control of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator
This paper presents a hybrid scheme for the control of active and reactive powers using the direct vector control with stator flux orientation (SFO) of the DFIG. The hybrid scheme consists of Fuzzy logic, Reference Signal Tracking (F-RST) controllers. The proposed (F-RST) controller is compared with the classical Proportional-Integral (PI) and the Polynomial (RST) based on the pole placement th...
